Artists and Producers: Blueprint is now doing guest features

blueprint_americanflag_small

A few times a year, when I’m not on the road, I have some time to do some guest features on other artists albums.  Now is one of those times.  If you are an artist and have interest in getting me on your next project please contact me at HERE or e-mail me at info(at)printmatic.net to discuss rates and details.  Serious inquiries only.  Keep in mind, I do not do these for free, but they are affordable for serious artists.

For those that are curious about the level of what I do on my guest appearances, here are some snippets I put together of a few other guest appearance I’ve done already:

Three Blueprint Albums and Two Signed Posters for $10

While it is true that I have a great number of fans who know me primarily as a vocalist, I’ve also realized that there are also many fans that don’t really know how serious I am on the beats.  In addition to producing both of my solo albums, 1988 and Adventures in Counter-Culture, I’ve also produced three albums for my homie Illogic, as well as albums for my fellow Columbus artists Envelope and Zero Star. So, I’ve decided to run a special sale to bring people up to speed with some of my production where you can get my Chamber Music, Sign Language, and the Weightless Radio CDs for just $10. Plus, you get 11×17 posters for the Chamber Music & Sign Language albums.

That’s right, three albums and two signed posters for $10.  CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE.

Great Results Are No Accident

This past weekend I drove to New York to do my first photoshoot as a photographer.  I’m used to photoshoots as an artist, but this time around I was on the other side of the camera; doing press photos for my friends and fellow artists Illogic & Blockhead. They have a new album coming out later this year and I’ve been hired to do some photos and video work for the project. It’s a huge compliment and a great opportunity for me to apply what I’ve learned the past couple of years. Continue reading

Indiegogo Campaign for Movie with Blueprint Soundtrack

A few months ago, I made mention that I had been tapped to score my first independent film.  The name  of the film is “Friend” and it is now moving into production.  I’m pretty exited and humbled that I was asked to do the soundtrack.  As most of you know, doing anything independent is not cheap, and making a film is no exception.  Everybody aboard the film is doing it pretty much for the love of it, but there are still considerable expenses. Therefore, all of the members of the production team have created an Indiegogo campaign to allow people to contribute to the making of our film.   Please take a minute to review the synopsis and trailer.  If you can dig it and would like to contribute, please do.  Thanks for your consideration. Blueprint Announces the Release of New Book “The Making of Adventures in Counter-Culture”

After a five-year musical journey, critically acclaimed mc/producer and Soul Position frontman Blueprint, returned in 2011 with his highly-anticipated sophomore solo album Adventures in Counter-Culture.  While praised by critics and considered his finest release to date, the story behind Blueprint’s musical departure went largely untold until now.  The Making of Adventures in Counter-Culture sees Blueprint emerge as an author, vividly recounting the stories that inspired him to create such a unique piece of art.  His writing leaves nothing unanswered – taking the reader through the creative process behind every song on the album – and describing in rich detail the circumstances that lead to his social commentary, his personal transformation, and his genre-defying album, Adventures in Counter-Culture. Playing J Dilla Tribute In Columbus on Feb 10th

To all my friends in the Ohio area, I will be playing an instrumental set in Columbus on Friday Feb 10th @ Carabar (115 Parsons Ave), as a part of the J-Dilla Tribute Night being put together by my homie Zero Star.  The event is Free admission and all ages are welcome.  I am working on a couple instrumental projects under the name The 808 Mechanic, and this project will be my opportunity to do play some of this material out for the first time.  Just to clarify, I will not be rhyming, I will be playing an instrumental/beat set.

Hope yall can make it out.

Talking MMA tonight on MMA Uncensored show 8pm Mountain Time / 10pm EST

As many of my friends know, I’m a pretty big fan of Mixed-Martial Arts (MMA).  I think I started watching it about four or five years ago, and have been into it pretty heavily ever since, as proven by my MMA-related tweets whenever there’s a big event on.  Hell, a lot of my time in the studio is spent watching classic fights that I missed before I was a fan of the sport. Blueprint feature in the Orlando Weekly

Last week when i was in Orlando, their weekly paper The Orlando Weekly did a great feature on me and Adventures in Counter-Culture.

Please check it out here: http://orlandoweekly.com/music/under-the-radar-1.1245038

Here’s an exerpt:

In 2005, Al Shepard stopped by the headquarters of Power 107.5 FM, a radio station in his hometown, Columbus, Ohio. Shepard had ties to hip-hop, and so did the station, but each had a vastly different idea of what makes the genre great. Traditionally, Shepard raps over self-made beats as Blueprint, keeping his work low on coolness and flash, and heavy on honesty. Slang doesn’t play into his verses much and he’s consistently willing to experiment with different moods and sounds in his beats. (He’s had albums issued by stately indie hip-hop label Rhymesayers.) I’m working on a new album

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have anything to say.  In fact it’s the opposite.  I’ve had a lot to say, I just haven’t had the time to sit down and say it.

But I do want to say this: I’m currently knee deep into working on my follow-up to Adventures in Counter-Culture.

It doesn’t have an official title yet, it doesn’t have any guest appearances on it yet, but trust me that it’s definitely underway and could possibly be finished by the end of this winter.  Continue reading
