New Blueprint EP in February
A couple years back i released a free ep called Blueprint vs Funkadelic. It was something i did for fun in the studio and to kind of pay tribute to a band who i had recently rediscovered thru the wonders of vinyl. A lot of artists and producers do “mashups”, where they take existing vocals and put them over something else, but i try to do this series of record differently, by writing original material and not recycling rhymes. If you haven’t checked out Blueprint vs Funkadelic before please check it out and get ready for the next installment.
I’ve decided to do this again, but using music from The Who. Blueprint Who will be released sometime in February. The promo version will be free to download, and the delux version will come with a free poster, sticker, as well as the instrumentals. Stay tuned for more specific details.
Thanks for the support!

Download “Still Shook” MP3 from “Columbus or Bust” Rerelease
Back in 2005 Greenhouse Effect released a record called Columbus or Bust right around the same time that 1988 came out. Because we wanted to try to get better distribution situation for the record we licensed it to a label called Raptivism records. Boy was that a bad idea. Basically, they didn’t do anything they were supposed to do and looking back we would’ve been better off releasing this album ourselves.
Columbus or Bust has been out of print for a very long time (mostly because we didnt want to risk them pursuing us legally) but as far as I know Raptivism isn’t even in business anymore, so we think its high time this record was released properly. So, in January we will be rereleasing a delux version of the Columbus or Bust. It will be available for the first time Tuesday January 26th on iTunes, and the delux 2CD version will ship from our site on the 26th. We will also release the promo version on the 26th.
The delux version will include revised artwork, all instrumentals, as well as a 11×17 poster, sticker, and maybe even some other promo that’s not listed yet. For now check out the below song to get a taste of what the album sounds like:

Weightless Christmas Sale – 20% Off Everything
As many of you know, I run a independent label called Weightless Recordings based out of Columbus, OH. We’ve been putting out records since 1999 and our artists include myself, Illogic, Envelope, Zero Star, Greenhouse, and DJ Rare Groove. Many people first heard of me via Soul Position, and some first heard of me via my solo debut 1988. However, I have many albums that aren’t available in stores nor through Rhymesayers and are exclusive to our label Weightless Recordings.
At any rate, we have a webstore and are going to have a holiday sale where everything is 20% off with the coupon “20OFF.” Not that our prices were high anyways; we charge 4.99 and 7.99 for all our CDs, but we 20% off that is a pretty decent deal. The sale lasts from now until 12/31.
As you all know, it costs money to put out records, especially in this era where record sales aren’t what they used to be. We are here pretty much because of a number of dedicated fans and supporters, not because any of us sell a ton of records. That being said, anything support you all can give in the way of buying CDs, Vinyl, and T-shirts goes a long way towards keeping Weightless, or any other independent label in business.
But enough of that. Take your ass over to http://weightlessmerchandise.com and check it out.
Thanks for the support!

QUICK ANNOUNCEMENTS: Site Relocation
1. Website Relocation
printmtaticmusic.com is now printmatic.net.
When I first had the idea to create this site, my ideal domain would have been something that actually had the word “blueprint” in it, but i soon found out that these domains are all snatched up by companies that actually make blueprint. so i then moved on to “printmatic” and found out that pretty much every domain name involving the word printmatic was snatched up as well by printing companies. fuck. so i chose printmatic.net, just because it was pretty much the only option at the time. fortunately, I check back every month or so to see if any of the domain names I really wanted came available and i was FINALLY able to come up on printmatic.net, so i reserved the domain name now its officially on!
At any rate, for those of you who subscribe via RSS feed, I dont have any way of transfering your subscriptions so please go to printmatic.net and subscribe to the feed again.
2. Youtube address change
Fuck it, might as well do it as well. My youtube address which was http://www.youtube.com/printmaticmusic is now http://youtube.com/printmatictv. I figure since i’m going to be putting content on there regularly I might as well give it a name that fits it, as well as the renamed version of this site. If you happen to be one of my subscribers, please hit up the new page and subscribe! If you’re not a subscriber, make it happen.
3. Message Board/Forum –
I’m considering bringing the forum back. I had a problem with it a couple months ago where it wouldnt let me have access to the admin section of it, so i removed it. But that problem has been fixed. Also, I wasn’t completely sure we had enough people on here using it, but let me know if any of you are interested in it returning and I’ll get it up sooner than later.

Weekend Picks in Columbus – October 30th & 31st
No real hip-hop going on this weekend in Columbus, but definitely some good rock shows to check out. Although it’s Halloween weekend and I’m sure there are a ton of things going on that involve costumes, I’m gonna recommend two shows that i think will be fresh because of the line-ups:
Friday Oct 30th – The Receiver & Brainbow @ Skullys
My first time hearing The Receiver was a couple years back when i first started getting into Brainbow, but i havent been able to see them play live since. I actually did go to their CD release party to buy their album, but i ended up having to leave because i was playing a show somewhere else the same night. But stylistically this show makes a lot of sense. I will probably be at this one early in the night on Friday passing out flyers, as i don’t expect it to run particularly late. If you get a chance check out both of their music because they’re easily two of my favorite bands in columbus. Unfortunately, I dont know who else is playing on this bill, but the two bands alone make it worth it.Friday October 30th – El Jesus De Magico & Necropolis @ Carabar
El Jesus De Magico is the shit. If you’ve never checked them out please do yourself a favor and check them out. I’ve even sampled their music before and they always put on a good show. They will be doing the halloween throwdown with their Columbus Discount Records label-mates Necropolis on friday as well. It sucks that both of these shows are going on the same night, because my guess is that there wont be anything worth checking out on saturday, or at least nothing to this level. Carabar is always free, and this show will run later than the skully show so this is probably a cool way to end the night. I think I’m gonna try to get to this one around 1230 or so.
Have a good weekend. See yall monday for episode one of the video blog.

Quick Announcements
1. Show in Norfolk, VA with Lupe Fiasco on Nov 5th
This just popped up a couple days ago and was confirmed today. I will be playing in Norfolk, VA with Lupe Fiasco on Thursday November 5th. Doors are at 8pm, and I think i play 30-45 minutes before him. I don’t have all the details of it right now but its on the Old Dominion University campus (odu.edu might have some info on it) so if you live out that way then fall through. Its been a pretty long time since i’ve played out that way and I’ve actually never played Norfolk. Me and DJ Rare Groove will be doing our thing.
2. Pre-orders for the new Greenhouse EP “Electric Purgatory” have started.
There was a problem with our shopping cart where it wasnt letting people buy the cd by itself, but that’s been fixed. At any rate, the CD is $4.99 and ships with a free poster and the instrumentals. Please support the movement. Artists got bills too! If you want to order click on the below banner or go to my store page and order.
If you haven’t already, download the song “Gettin There” HERE
3. Video Blog –
I’m going to start doing some video blogs, since things are starting to get really busy and i think there’s some interesting things going on right now, but i would like to add a section where i answer peoples questions. Lord knows it makes absolutely no sense trying to answer questions on twitter within the 140 character limit, so hit me up at questions@printmatic.net and shoot me your questions. It can be the most technical stuff about production (which i encourage), to the most random questions, or even relationship advice, whatever. But send me some shit so i can get it crackin. First Video Blog will premier this upcoming monday, so make sure you stop back here to check it out.
4. Press/Writers/Bloggers
If you’re in the press, or a write a blog, and would be interested in hearing some music before everybody else and writing about it let me know. I would like to get it to you. Hit me at info@printmatic.net
Thats all i got. As you were.

If you’ve been following any of my updates lately then you already know that I’ve been working on some new Greenhouse material with my Weightless compadre Illogic. But if you live in Columbus you dont have to wait that long. We are throwing a CD release party on Saturday November 28th at Skullys in Columbus to celebrate this release.
The line-up is Greenhouse (Blueprint & Illogic), Kam Moye aka Supastition, Envelope, and special guest DJ J. Rawls. There are also going to be a couple more special guest appearances that will be on the official line-up, but this is an event that you don’t wanna miss if you live in the central ohio area, so mark your calendars!

Blueprint show in Cleveland this Sat Oct 17th
My friends and former Columbus residents Edotkom will be having a CD release party this saturday in Cleveland @ the Grog Shop. I will be performing as their special guest, along with my dude DJ Rare Groove. I probably won’t be back in Cleveland until 2010 after the new album is out so if you live in the cleveland or akron area come check me out. Doors are at 9pm and i think it’s 18+, so please come out and support. Also performing are Edotkom, Rime Royal, Phatburner, & Mr 44.
