Blueprint @ SXSW Music Conference

Atmosphere announces The Family tour featuring Blueprint, Grieves, Dj Abilities, etc..
This April, Atmosphere will embark on their 21 date US and Canadian “The Family Tour”. Atmosphere will be joined by Rhymesayers family member Blueprint, Grieves with Budo, Sab The Artist & DJ Abilities. The largest show on the tour will be held at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley, CA and will see the addition of Aesop Rock with Rob Sonic & DJ Big Wiz. “The Family Tour” will directly support Atmosphere’s April 12th release The Family Sign.
A limited amount of fan pre-sale tickets will be available at 3:00PM Wednesday, February 16th. Be sure to follow Atmosphere on Facebook & Twitter for the fan pre-sale password. National ticket on-sale begins Friday, February 18th. These shows will sell out quick so make sure you take advantage of the fan pre-sale and get your tickets early!

Critically acclaimed mc/producer and Soul Position frontman Blueprint, returns with his highly anticipated sophomore solo release Adventures in Counter-Culture. Experimenting with synths, keyboards, and drum machines, Adventures in Counter-Culture touches on Blueprint’s cynicism with the world, his disdain for pop culture, the state of politics and an apathetic, uninspired society. Daft Punk to score the new Tron:Legacy movie
I’ll admit that this is news that probably excites me more than most, but Daft Punk is doing the score for the entire new Tron: Legacy movie, due out in December. This excites me for two reasons: first, Tron is an 80s cult-classic and second because it’s fucking Daft Punk for crying out loud!Truth be told I never really sat down with a Daft Punk record until about 3-4 years ago. I was trying to learn more about synths and electronic based music, and realized that I should probably start at the source and check out the two pioneering groups: Daft Punk & Kraftwerk. Since pretty much everything else that came after them was influenced by them it seemed like a safe place to start. I would highly recommend the same thing for all the hip-hop producers reading this, you won’t regret it.
At any rate, they’re making a big return to the scene by scoring the Tron: Legacy movie. It’s a perfect fit because the movie is some futuristic shit anyways, so props to whoever chose them to do the soundtrack. Every now and then Hollywood makes a damn good decision. Naturally, it’s a huge compliment for me to be featured on the website and contribute to its main focus, which is to provide tools and insight for independent artists. Please check it out the interview, and if you’re an independent artist of any sort it wouldn’t be bad move to subscribe to the site via RSS. In fact, it would be a good move.
