Dude, what does that even mean…I follow Chuck D. All he does is tweet about how ignorant americans are, and how terrible everything is. I say do something about it then. Stop talking down to people.

are you seriously telling me that you don’t understand that quote? or are you just saying you don’t understand it because you think Chuck D is “negative” or “talking down” to you. and if you feel so insulted by him, why on earth do you follow him on twitter?
hmmm….

also, it could be argued that Chuck D and Public Enemy have made careers out of educating hip-hop listeners–inside their music and out, which surely qualifies as “doing something about it”. so the question to me is, what do you think he should be doing, and what are you doing to change things that you think he should add?

I believe that he’s acknowledging that there are victims to these topics that are not in the spotlight like the topics he’s speaking on are. It’s about awareness. I think if you’re real about life, you can understand that quote and grasp it for what it is and for what it isn’t. It’s not to talk down, it’s to plant it in you that what we don’t see and hear is what is affected by that which is seen and heard. You don’t see or hear the listeners of music or tv, but they are affected. And blueprint thanks for affecting us positively. Check your surroundings. See all that’s being affected negatively. The youth, which is the main point of that quote. All this garbage that is accepted by mainstream life. It’s dragging alot of people unaware down. He saw it and spoke how he felt about it. That’s what real feels like. If you don’t say anything, you’re void. Appreciate the criticism. The topics that he’s speaking about…they are being taken and ran with. He’s point out the sum of it. Victims. It helps to be aware.
