You read it right–all t-shirts are $10 the entire month of May. Plus, all shirts come with a free CD. I’ve got a few t-shirts left over from the last few tours I’ve done and it’s getting nice outside. However, please understand that sizes are limited in certain styles (especially in some of the smaller sizes), so don’t sleep. Once a particular size is gone, it’s gone.
For all my friends who have Kindles (or Ipad’s with Kindle Reader apps), the E-Book version of The Making of Adventures in Counter-Culture is now available on Amazon.com for $5.99. Click HERE or the cover to purchase. Audiobook version will be available later this month.
After a five-year musical journey, critically acclaimed mc/producer and Soul Position frontman Blueprint, returned in 2011 with his highly-anticipated sophomore solo album Adventures in Counter-Culture. While praised by critics and considered his finest release to date, the story behind Blueprint’s musical departure went largely untold until now. The Making of Adventures in Counter-Culture sees Blueprint emerge as an author, vividly recounting the stories that inspired him to create such a unique piece of art. His writing leaves nothing unanswered – taking the reader through the creative process behind every song on the album – and describing in rich detail the circumstances that lead to his social commentary, his personal transformation, and his genre-defying album, Adventures in Counter-Culture. Several months back I took a poll asking if people would like to see me start a discussion forum here on printmatic.net and it got a lot of positive feedback, so I’m launching it today. Please register and participate HERE
To all my friends in the Ohio area, I will be playing an instrumental set in Columbus on Friday Feb 10th @ Carabar (115 Parsons Ave), as a part of the J-Dilla Tribute Night being put together by my homie Zero Star. The event is Free admission and all ages are welcome. I am working on a couple instrumental projects under the name The 808 Mechanic, and this project will be my opportunity to do play some of this material out for the first time. Just to clarify, I will not be rhyming, I will be playing an instrumental/beat set.
As many of my friends know, I’m a pretty big fan of Mixed-Martial Arts (MMA). I think I started watching it about four or five years ago, and have been into it pretty heavily ever since, as proven by my MMA-related tweets whenever there’s a big event on. Hell, a lot of my time in the studio is spent watching classic fights that I missed before I was a fan of the sport. Continue reading →
In 2005, Al Shepard stopped by the headquarters of Power 107.5 FM, a radio station in his hometown, Columbus, Ohio. Shepard had ties to hip-hop, and so did the station, but each had a vastly different idea of what makes the genre great. Traditionally, Shepard raps over self-made beats as Blueprint, keeping his work low on coolness and flash, and heavy on honesty. Slang doesn’t play into his verses much and he’s consistently willing to experiment with different moods and sounds in his beats. (He’s had albums issued by stately indie hip-hop label Rhymesayers.) Hello Friends. Although it’s officially winter I would like to announce the Sunshine State of Mind Tour, a week-long headlining tour that will be brought to the sunniest of sunny places, Florida. If you live in the state of Florida, I would like to officially invite you out to one of the shows.
It’s been a while since I’ve blogged, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have anything to say. In fact it’s the opposite. I’ve had a lot to say, I just haven’t had the time to sit down and say it.
But I do want to say this: I’m currently knee deep into working on my follow-up to Adventures in Counter-Culture.
It doesn’t have an official title yet, it doesn’t have any guest appearances on it yet, but trust me that it’s definitely underway and could possibly be finished by the end of this winter. Continue reading →

To all my fly Europeans who have supported me for so long, your boy Printmatic is coming back around your way this November in the form of the first ever Rhymesayers European tour. A tour that has been talked about for quite a while is finally coming about in Europe, hitting various major countries and cities. I haven’t been to Europe since summer of 2008 when I was out there with Louis Logic and Paul Dateh. I love Europe and have been trying to get back there ever since, but having a new album like Adventures in Counter-Culture gives me a great opportunity to get back over there and bring the music to the people. Of course I will not be alone. The tour will feature Atmosphere, Evidence, Brother Ali, and Grieves & Budo. The line-up is crazy and I’m just happy to be a part of it.
So, peep the dates below, mark your calendars and come see me in November and say whatup: Continue reading →
While on tour, I bump into a lot of people who ask me about buying beats or guest verses. Being on the road I don’t have time, but since I’ll be home for another month or so before heading back out again, I can dedicate some time to it. That being said if you’re interested in buying beats or guest verses please e-mail me at HERE for prices and details or hit up the contact page.
Serious inquiries only! In other words, don’t e-mail me asking for free beats.

This Sunday May 29th is the Soundset music festival in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I will be performing there along with a host of other talented artists like De La Soul, Big Boi, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Edan, etc. Long story short, it’s going to be a huge hip-hop festival, that I’m already sure many of you already know about.
Well this year, I’ve decided to setup an official Blueprint booth at the festival, where I will be hanging out all day, meeting people, signing things, selling Blueprint things, and enjoying the event. Because I’ll have my own booth I can now bring a bunch of merch items that I wouldn’t normally be able to bring with me.
Here’s a list of the new t-shirt designs I’ll be bringing (and pictures): Continue reading →
First, I want to thank everybody for voting in the poll I had last week. It’s good to get people’s feedback for things like that before you actually have the thing printed. Because of the limitations of the printing process we had to switch away from the light blue shirt I originally wanted it printed on, and change the color scheme. However, I’m very happy with the design and new color scheme. Check it out:
Will have these for sale at the Family Tour shows that start tonight in Columbus, OH @ the Newport.
